A workshop to discuss the Korogocho Development Plan was held on 11th and 12th February 2010 to engage the Residents Committee (RC) in the development of initial planning concepts and to inform them of the existing planning standards to be taken into consideration during planning. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Lands and Ministry of Local Government with support from the Italian Cooperation. It was attended by representatives from UN HABITAT, the 48 representatives of the RC, and the Korogocho Chief.

The community with assistance from the technical team developed initial concepts that will be developed further by the planning team from the Ministry of Lands and presented at a later date to the RC. The concepts included mapping of proposed roads and community facilities for the area. The RC also listed their vision of the area; key problems and solutions to solve them; existing community facilities; priority infrastructure investment projects; best possible tenure option among others.
