The construction of the dispensary/ Maternity facility in Korogocho built by the Ministry of Local Government through the Korogocho Slum Upgrading Programme with support from the Kenya Italy Debt for Development Programme has been completed. The facility was handed over by Hilverda contractors to the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG) and Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation (MoPHS.) on 26th October 2012.

The facility will be operated by MoPHS through a Management Committee involving local residents of Korogocho. The facility will tremendously increase access to health care in the area, and especially reduce infant and maternal mortality.
