The scope of the project in Korogocho involves activities singled out in key thematic areas which form a holistic and sustainable integrated strategy.

These key thematic areas are:

1. The physical, which include, land, housing and infrastructure,
2. Social which include, health, education, recreation, the aged, disabled, security and safety,
3. Economic which involves employment and income generation
4. Institutional which involve capacity building of partners involved
5. Environment which looks at solid waste disposal, and liquid waste 

The Goal

The long-Term Goal of the programme is to improve the quality of the living environment of the people and enhance their socio-economic welfare through participatory planning and management of the upgrading process in line with the Millennium Development Goals.

Objectives of the programme

1. To have a detailed appreciation of Korogocho.
2. To prepare an Advisory Physical Plan for Korogocho.
3. To build capacity of various actors/Institutions.
4. To prepare a sustainable integrated plan for upgrading Korogocho.
5. To provide appropriate security of tenure to the residents of Korogocho.
6. To implement concrete improvement to assure visible impact.
