The notice of completion of Korogocho Local Physical Development Plan has been published by the Ministry of Lands on 14th February 2013. This notice allows any interested person to make comments regarding the plan from the date of this publication within 60 days.
The Korogocho plan is an action area development plan whose main objective is to provide for a secure land tenure for the residents of Korogocho while guiding the overall development of the area. Korogocho allocated additional funding from KIDDP

Korogocho Slum Upgrading Programme has been allocated additional funds amounting to Ksh. 200 million for upgrading of an additional 4 kilometres of roads to bituminous level and landscaping and greening of recreational parks. This financial support funded through a debt swap approach was allocated in the Financial Year 2012/ 2013.
The rehabilitation of the roads will facilitate better access in the area, boost economic growth and reduce insecurity while opening up Korogocho to the rest of the city. Already the Programme has succeeded in rehabilitation of 4 kilometres of roads.

Korogocho Dispensary Handed over to the Ministry of Public Health

The construction of the dispensary/ Maternity facility in Korogocho built by the Ministry of Local Government through the Korogocho Slum Upgrading Programme with support from the Kenya Italy Debt for Development Programme has been completed. The facility was handed over by Hilverda contractors to the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG) and Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation (MoPHS.) on 26th October 2012.
The facility will be operated by MoPHS through a Management Committee involving local residents of Korogocho. The facility will tremendously increase access to health care in the area... Read More
Hon. Mrs Margherita Boniver officially opens four roads in Korogocho

On 29th of May 2012 at Korogocho informal settlement, Hon. Lewis Nguyai, Assistant Minister, Ministry of Local Government and Italian Member of Parliament, and special representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Mrs Margherita Boniver officially opened four roads in the slum. The ceremony was also attended by the Italian Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Paola Imperiale, and the Deputy P.S. Ministry of Local Government.
